How do I properly burn my candle to get the longest life/safest burn?
Want your candle to last longer and smell amazing the whole time? We got you. A little candle TLC goes a long way! 🔥
Trim that wick! Snip it to about 1/4" before lighting to keep the burn clean and even.
Let it pool. The first time you light it, give the wax enough time to melt all the way to the edges. It helps prevent tunneling (aka the sad candle sinkhole).
Keep burns under 4 hours. Longer burns can make the flame go wild or mess with the wick.
Keep away from drafts. Wind gusts or vent drafts can blow the flame or affect burn performance of your candle. Avoid this for an even burn and scent throw.
Hands off while it’s lit. Seriously—no moving, touching, or tilting a burning candle.
Don’t walk away. Keep your candle in sight and out of reach from kiddos or pets. Leaving the room? Blow it out first.
Snuff it out. A candle snuffer helps avoid splashes, soot, and wick embers from blowing into your wax.
Lid it up. If your candle came with a lid, pop it on between burns to keep dust out and the scent fresh.
